A Solution

From at least 1984, when there was a carbon monoxide related death behind a boat manufactured by Correct Craft, the boating industry has been on notice of the problem of carbon monoxide poisonings behind ski boats.  The solution to this problem has been obvious since that time.  Catalytic converters already were proven in automobiles to reduce the amount of carbon monoxide to levels that were safe in almost any application.  Catalytic converters were, and still are, the obvious answer to the carbon monoxide problem in ski boats.  Historically, there was very little action being taken to produce a workable catalytic converter for ski boats.  Recently, however, there are indications that engine manufacturers are finally starting to focus on finding a solution to the problem.  After that, it will then be up to the ski boat companies to immediately make these engines with catalytic converters standard equipment on the boats they sell, as well as to retrofit the existing boats with the catalytic converters.
